Aim
Water and environmental management are fundamental to our long-term future, both in the UK and internationally. In April 2009 CIWEM will hold a two-day Annual Conference at Olympia Conference Centre that will address multidisciplinary issues across all areas of the global water and environment sector. There will be a mix of keynote speakers, offered papers, exhibitions and networking opportunities.

Conference Programme
Keynote speakers will be industry leaders, policy makers and key advocates that are shaping the future of the water and environment sector. Exhibitors will showcase the diversity of the water and environment industry, allowing delegates to network with industry peers and experts face-to-face. This will be the key event for water and environment professionals.

A two day conference on the subjects of Water Resource Management, Climate Change, Water Supply Protection, Sustainable Urban Drainage, Pollution Sources & Controls and Monitoring & Modelling.

The first Peter Wolf Young Hydrologists Symposium will be hosted by Newcastle University on 28th and 29th June 2007. The Symposium aims to bring together young hydrologists, both postgraduates and those working in industry, to promote exchange of hydrological ideas and experience, and to help establish networks among hydrology researchers. This two-day event will consist of a conference day and a field visit. Day one will open with a keynote speech from Professor Paul Younger, followed by presentations by young hydrologists and a poster session. Day two will include a visit to Kielder reservoir, Kielder fish hatcheries and Newcastle University's sustainable farm initiative at Nafferton Farm. Abstracts are invited for both presentations and posters; best abstracts will be selected as presentations.
